Makeup On prom night, makeup can be a girl’s best friend. Makeup allows you to play up desirable features for a beautiful, eye-catching appearance. Even if you do not normally wear much makeup, it is important to apply at least a minimal amount to make your face stand out and cover any unfortunate marks or blemishes. To create an unforgettable prom night appearance, check out the four makeup looks below.

Keep it Simple: At the mere mention of Prom, many girls assume they need to layer on the makeup to get that fashionable, special occasion look. In reality it’s quite the opposite. Keeping your makeup simple can be the best way to achieve elegant beauty that will look great in prom pictures. The best way to keep it simple is to strike a balance. If you want to wear vibrant and elaborate eye makeup, choose a simple lip stick and vice versa. Simplicity will leave you looking radiant and refreshed without looking over done.

Foundation Tips

It’s essential to have a foundation of high quality that suits your skin tone and skin type in order to look natural. Depending on your skin you should apply the foundation before or after the concealer. Make sure your skin is well-moisturized before applying the foundation - this way the makeup will blend better. Apply a small amount of the foundation to the tip your index finger and dot on the nose, chin, forehead and cheeks. Start blending in an upwards and outwards motions. Blend very carefully, making sure that there are no hard lines or patches, especially along the jaw line.

Concealer. What is it? Well, it comes in tube, liquid, tub, or stick form. It is exactly what the word implies: meant for concealing. Concealing what? Blemishes, scars, odd little spots on your skin that don’t qualify as blemishes, and even tattoos if applied properly and the tattoo is not too big and you have a spatula to apply it with. Amongst other than the just mentioned places, it’s even good for applying under your eyes if you have dark circles (from studying, yes?) or above your eyes if you have reddish eyelids. How do you know which concealer color is right for you? There are two things you need to do, depending on where you will apply it.

Rosy, Fresh Cheeks

For an innocent, girl-next-door look on prom night, follow these steps to showcase your rosy cheeks and fresh femininity. Start the look by using a small amount of foundation sparingly on any blemishes or uneven patches of skin. If you have any marks that foundation will not cover, use a concealer first and set it with loose powder. Apply a cream blush in a rosy shade to your cheeks, beginning at the apple of your cheeks and blending outward. Be sure to blend the blush well so that you do not end up with a garish, frightening look.
